Lake Hou

Lake Hou is located almost in the heart of Beijing north of the Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square. Today, this old imperial lake is overgrown with restaurants, bars and cafes on all sides. The lake area is known for its nightlife and is very popular among the capital's youth and foreign tourists.

On the shore of the lake, tourists are offered to make a tour on small boats. And you can rent a small boat yourself and go on a small trip on its calm waters. In winter, the lake sometimes freezes and turns into a huge free skating rink.
