Beijing Yabaolu Market

Beijing's Chaoyang district. In some guidebooks it is indicated as Russian Town

Description:

Shopping street, familiar to the residents of the former Soviet Union - goods from this street at one time were in abundance in the CIS markets. Now here are concentrated trade representative offices of factories of the southern provinces of China, supplying to Russia and further clothing and shoes. The main visitors and customers of the market are Russians, so almost all traders speak Russian well, and all signs and inscriptions are made in Cyrillic.

Yabaolu Street is about 400 meters long and overlooks its western end on the Second Ring, and its eastern end rests on the Zhitan Park. To the south and north of this street there are several high-rise shopping centers (Tenya Plaza, Yabao Dasha, Jili Dasha, Dunfang) and the Guoxin Children's Center. The street has only two lanes, so traffic jams here are common.
