Description:

A pedestrian street and one of the attractions of Beijing. Known since the XVI century, and the modern look received in the first half of the XX century. It was thoroughly reconstructed and partially restored for the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

After reconstruction, Qianmen Street became a kind of museum of traditional culture of Beijing. To the remaining 9 historical buildings, 41 restored facade and 3 memorial arches were added. In addition, 52 buildings were built in the style of ancient historical monuments.

The streets are decorated with 3-meter street lamps in the form of cages for birds and drums, and on the sides - shops and restaurants, made in the style of the 20-30s of the XX century.

Especially for tourists, two small trams walk along the street, which announce their approach with the loud sound of a bell.
