Ancient City of Xinchang
Xinchang Town, Nanhui District, Shanghai, China
Description:
The ancient city of Xinchang is called the area in Shanghai, where many architectural buildings from the Ming (1368-1644) and Qing (1644-1911) dynasties have survived. In 2008, it was awarded the title of “Historical City of Chinese Culture”.
In this area you can see several small temples with Buddha statues, a museum of musical instruments, a painting studio, as well as houses of ordinary residents of that era.
Throughout the ancient city of Xinchang runs a small river, through which many small "arched" pedestrian bridges were built, many of which are well preserved to our time.
