Hongkou Football Stadium in Shanghai was built in 1998 and seats a little more than 33,000 people, the size of its field is 105 by 68 meters.
In 2005, the stadium was reconstructed, new equipment was installed, the security system was improved, the seats were replaced by more spacious ones.
Large-scale events are held here - concerts of stars, championships, FIFA World Cups.
In 2009, Hongkou was supplemented with a climbing wall and three squash courts. There are also places for playing badminton and tennis.
