Renmin Park in Shanghai

No.231 West Nan Jing Road, Huangpu District, Shanghai, China

Description:

Renmin Park in Shanghai is a surprisingly quiet place with transparent ponds and shady groves. The only sign that you are in the heart of a modern city is the view of skyscrapers looming above the treetops.

Lotuses bloom in the local ponds, and the thick foliage of the trees gives enough shade to avoid the heat.

On Sundays, there are so-called marriage markets - marriage agents stand with photos of young people and girls and offer those who wish to get acquainted with them.

Adults here play cards and chess on benches, and children just play and have fun. The atmosphere of People’s Park is unforgettable – warm and friendly.

The park covers an area of 12 hectares, was opened in 1951 and reconstructed in 1994.

In addition to the walking area, there is a racetrack where you can ride horses.
