Tianzifang Lane in Shanghai

210th line of Taikan Street

Description:

Artistic Lane (or Creative Street) Previously, there were abandoned warehouses of factories. But after Chinese artists Chen Yifei, Er Dongqiang and Huang Yunyu moved to the neighborhood and launched a storm of activity, Tianzifang became one of the first creative parks in Shanghai.

Today, on an area of 20 thousand square meters there are more than 100 workshops of industrial art and interior. Former street factories of the 30s of the last century turned into studios of American, Japanese, Belgian and French designers and were called “Shanghai SOHO”.

Currently, in addition to workshops and studios, there are more than 50 restaurants of European cuisine, bars and jewelry stores. On some buildings you can still see signs that remain from the past, factory life of the quarter. For example, “Skin treatment shop in Xinxing Shanghai – 1958”.
