Tsingpu Pedestrian Bridge
Description:
The Tsingpu Pedestrian Bridge, which was completed in 2008, differs from most bridges in that it connects the two banks of the DianPuHe Canal not in a straight line, but along a broken line. The distance between the banks of the canal is 50 meters. The curves of the bridge are remarkably consistent with the external environment, allowing you to see the contrast of the northern and southern banks of the channel. The bridge links the Hebin road on the north bank, with the new housing development area on the south bank.
The bridge is a unique structure with a wooden roof and deck, asymmetrical metal structural supports of pure white color, which give the bridge airiness. The inclined ceiling serves as a large reflector for an artificial lighting system that is mounted in the railing. The width of the bridge is 8 m, so in the central part of the bridge it seems that you are in a spacious room floating on the water.
By creating this bridge, the architects of the famous construction firm CA-design, led by the Spanish architect Pedro Alba, solved not only the problem of communication, but also created a bright and dynamic space on the water.
