Garden Bridge

Zhongshan East 1st Road, Huangpu District, Shanghai, China

Description:

Garden Bridge is one of the iconic buildings of architecture and a symbol of old Shanghai.

It was opened in 1908 and connects the districts of Huangpu and Honggow. The Garden Bridge was the first bridge in China built entirely of steel.

The bridge has paths not only for cars, but also for pedestrians and cyclists.

In the evening, a multi-colored illumination is turned on on the bridge, highlighting the upper steel structures.

In an ever-changing metropolis, the Garden Bridge is still a popular landmark and one of the few permanent structures in Shanghai’s landscape.
