Rio Claro Valley
Description:
The Rio Claro Valley is located in Eastern Antioquia, a three-hour drive from Medellin (on the Medellin-Bogota highway) and is a reserve territory.
A crystal clear river, humid rainforests have created excellent conditions for various species of birds. Here you can find hummingbirds, toucans, hawks, guajaro and other rare birds. The valley is a real paradise for professional ornithologists and those who are just interested in birds.
You can stay in a house known as El Refugio, which is located near the town of Puerto Triunfo, one kilometer from the river.
The river that flows through the valley is a great place for rafting.
