About the company:

The Art Museum, the oldest museum in the province and the second in Colombia, was founded in 1881 in the Antioquia Library. In 1886, due to the accession of Antioquia to Colombia, the museum was closed. In 1955 the museum was reopened in the mint building.

The museum contains a large collection of works by the native artists Fernand Botero and Pedro Gomez for Medellin. Huge sculptures of Botero can be seen near the museum. They decorate the square in front of the museum building.

The museum exposition is located in seventeen halls. The museum exhibits works of art from the pre-Columbian era, the colonial period and modern masters of Colombia. You can also see paintings from the 19th century.
