Namisom Island
Namisom is a small island with an area of 462 809 square meters, having the shape of a crescent moon. It appeared as a result of the construction of the Cheongpyeong Dam.
On the island is the tomb of General Nami (1441-1468), who made a great contribution to the suppression of the rebellion that occurred in 1467 during the reign of King Sejo, the seventh king of the Joseon dynasty. It was in honor of the general that the island got its name.
Namisom Island, known for its picturesque alley, is located 63 km from Seoul, towards the city of Chungcheon. Getting there is quite easy: from Seoul the road takes about 1 hour, and from Chungcheon - about 30 minutes. It is a popular holiday destination among young couples and families.
A feature of the island is the absence of telegraph poles - all electrical wires are carried underground, which helps to preserve the natural beauty of the island.

Arboretum of Morning Tranquility
The Arboretum of Morning Freshness or Morning Calm is one of the most beautiful places in South Korea. Here the film “Letter” was filmed, as well as various scenes from dramas and television programs.
You can see the beauty of Korean nature in one place. Depending on the season, the arboretum looks completely different.
In the arboretum "Achim Koyo" you can feel the beauty of Korean nature. It was opened in 1996 by Han Sang Kyung, a professor at the horticultural faculty of Samyuk University, who wanted to create a garden in the traditional Korean style.
The name "Achim Koyo" (Morning Calm) was borrowed from the words of the Indian poet Rabindranath Tagore, who called Korea "the land of morning calm."
The arboretum includes more than 10 thematic gardens, where about a thousand species of trees, flowers and plants grow.
On the territory are located:
- Korean garden with traditional Korean plants and large clay jugs;
- Garden of Korean wild plants;
- garden of decorative trees;
- Beautiful walking alleys and seasonal compositions.
This place became especially popular after the release of the film “Letter”, the bulk of which was filmed here.
