Author's sightseeing tour of non-tourist areas of Seoul

I offer you an author's tour of the places where ordinary residents of the city live to see the real Seoul without the tourist gloss.

Excursion programme:

• I'll meet you at your hotel and then we'll head to the north of Seoul. Here, just 2 km from the central square and the presidential residence, you can see the areas where people still live in very simple conditions - in old houses, in places without the usual urban infrastructure.
• On the way, we are waiting for a serpentine along the fortress wall, and then a walk in the park on a mountain 342 meters high with a beautiful panoramic view of Seoul. (A coffee shop can be visited if desired.)
• We will visit the herbal market, where we will find out what herbs treat various diseases and how traditional medicinal infusions and medicines are prepared in Korea. (Importantly, some stores may be closed on weekends.)
• We will have lunch at one of the largest local markets. In winter, it can be hot chicken soup with noodles, in summer - refreshing iced cuckoo, or duck cooked right on the street. After lunch we will walk through the market. Also, you will find a branded exotic snack, which not everyone decides to try.
• We will stop in the sleeping area, where most of the locals live, to see the daily life of Seoul without tourist routes.
• Visit the old district of the city, where you can compare living conditions in modern apartments and old low-rise buildings. If you wish, you can walk here with a cup of coffee. If you’ve seen the movie Parasites, this part of the tour will be particularly interesting.
• On the serpentine road we will go up to the beautiful Buddhist temple on the mountain, where we can walk and explore the territory.
• After the tour, I will help to call a taxi if necessary, escort to a taxi or subway. Returning to the hotel is independent.
