Baconao National Park
Parque Nacional de Baconao, Siboney, Cuba
Description:
Baconao National Nature Park, located on an area of 11 hectares between the Caribbean Sea and the Sierra Maestra Mountains near the Caribbean city of Sierra Maestra, has been declared a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO since 1987.
In the park, in addition to the very picturesque palm groves, you can see the Prehistoric Valley, on which there are sculptures of 200 prehistoric animals from the Stone Age, among which there are dinosaurs, mammoths, and even sculptures of people from ancient tribes. All objects of the valley are made in life size.
On the territory of Baconao National Nature Park there is also Baconao Lagoon - a salt lake with a large beach and a cozy village of local residents who will treat tourists with local food and drinks.
The aquarium, located in the park, has an underwater tunnel with transparent walls through which you can observe the inhabitants of the Caribbean Sea.
The most interesting places of the Baconao National Nature Park can be visited in a day, and those wishing to stay longer can always stay in hotels, which are in large numbers on the coast of the park.
