Los Ingenios Valley
Carretera Trinidad/ Sancti Spiritus, km 5, Finca Loma del Puerto, Trinidad, Cuba
Description:
The Valley of Los Ingenios (Cuba, Trinidad) is known to many as the “Valley of Sugar Factories”. The popular landmark on the UNESCO World Heritage List brings together several interesting and very peculiar museum symbols, including the 45-meter-high Isnaga Observation Tower, formerly used to observe sugar plantation slaves.
A series of valleys united with each other outside the city of Trinidad is represented by the ruins of ancient sugar factories, residential buildings, workshops and warehouses destroyed during the free struggle of the XIX century, as well as a fairly well-preserved mansion of the plantation owner and a watchtower. Tourists to this attraction are delivered daily by a special train from Trinidad.
