Bridges in Riga and their history

I would like to invite you on an interesting tour of the bridges of Riga.

There are about 80 bridges in Riga, new and old. Every bridge has its own story. They were destroyed and rebuilt, rebuilt and transferred, each of them has its own name. And of course, each of them has a story or legend. Some of them you will know more about. We will drive along the most beautiful bridge across the Daugava, as well as pass along the “golden bridge” – the most expensive. You will see the most interesting bridge and find out why it was called "guitar Voss".

The oldest city bridges have not survived to this day. You will learn when the first bridge in Riga was built and why it was called floating bridge. The history of not only the bridges over the beautiful Daugava is interesting, but also the history of bridges across the city canal is amazing. We will walk along the humpback bridge and the bridge "Timma", and that is a completely different story.
