Sacred Monuments of Old Riga

I am pleased to invite you to a fascinating walk in Old Riga.

You will get acquainted with the history of the city, with its famous architectural monuments.

Many events took place on the territory of modern Old Riga, the significance of which went beyond the city limits. Many of them are associated with the influence of Christianity, which, as a major religious trend, grew into the political decisions of former rulers.

When visiting sacred monuments, you will meet with beautiful examples of works of art of different eras, reflecting the giftedness of our ancestors. Behind every work of human hands lies faith, a history of inspiration, and a man’s desire to touch something beyond his comprehension.

During the tour you will get acquainted with the most important and majestic religious monuments and shrines: the Dome Cathedral, the churches of St. Peter, St. John, St. Ekab, the Sorrowful Mother of God, Anglican.

You will learn interesting facts and legends from their history, as well as what else to visit in their surroundings.

When viewing the Dome Cathedral and the Cross Gallery, you can listen to the organ concerto piccolo (20 min.) by purchasing tickets in advance.
