Description:

Riga Dome Cathedral, founded on July 25, 1211, on St. Jacob’s Day, is the largest and oldest sacred structure of the Middle Ages in Latvia.

Riga Dome Cathedral - Cathedral of the Archbishop of Latvia - one of the main attractions, located in the center of Riga.

This amazing cathedral combines the features of the Romanesque style, early Gothic, Baroque and Art Nouveau. During its history, it has been repeatedly expanded: the western nave was erected, the height of the central nave was increased, and the height of the spire reached 140 meters - before the cathedral was damaged in a fire in 1547.

Visiting here, you can enjoy the music of the organ, installed in 1883-1884, which includes 6,768 pipes, as well as visit the Museum of the History of Riga and Navigation, located in the ensemble of the cathedral, whose collection has 500,000 exhibits.
