The cable-stayed bridge

Kri&scaron jā a Valdemā ra iela, Rī ga, LV-1050, Latvia

Description:

One of the largest bridges connects the banks of the Daugava in Riga. The large cable-stayed road bridge starts from Valdemara Street on the right side of the river and ends with Kalnziem Street on the left. Opened in 1981, it was the longest bridge in Europe.

Four streams of cars move along the bridge and there are two spacious three-meter sidewalks for walking. The bridge is held thanks to an A-shaped hundred-meter pylon and fifty strong cables.
