Description:
The tour begins from the suspension bridge.
- First House - Papar House
This group is engaged in agriculture and fishing. Houses are built on stilts that protect homes from flooding. Here you will taste hinawa, rice coffee and a dessert of coconut shavings.
- Second House - Brunei House
This ethical group came from Brunei. They stand on the sea or near rivers. The peculiarity of the house is that there is a separate bedroom only for the daughter. The rest of the family sleeps in the living room. They profess Islam.
- The Third House: The Chinese House
It is the only house that has an altar and a bathroom. We can say that civilization is already visible! Here you will be treated to tea out of respect - cat mustache.
- Fourth House - Penang House
They live near the town of Kota Kinabalu and grow rice.
- Fifth House - Murut House
They are known as bounty hunters. They lived in long houses, each family had a separate room and the whole village had a common long corridor, where they gathered during the holidays and received guests. In the middle of the long house is a lansaran – a springboard for games. Prizes were hung to the ceiling and hunters had to bend to the ceiling and get a prize. You will see the demonstration and you can try to bend on the ski jump! It's not easy at all!!!
- Sixth house - Bajau-dom
These were former Filipino pirates who circled the island of Borneo and captured natives, who were then sold into slavery. On the territory of Sabah, they settled on the seaside, they are called “the gypsies of the sea”. Another part of the pirates settled on the island and was known as the “cowboys of the East”, because they were engaged in horse breeding. This group professes Islam.
- Seventh House - Tidung
This ethnic group lives in the northeast of Kalimantan. These tribes also live on the islands of Indonesia and mainland Malaysia. They have a relationship with Murut, an ethnic group. There used to be a Tidung kingdom. They converted to Islam in the 18th century and even have their own Arabic script. Here you will be shown and taught to light a fire with a stick of dry bamboo and bamboo shavings.
