River Safari - Monkey Nose and Fireflies

13:00 Meeting in the hotel lobby with a guide. Departure to the village of Garama, which is located on the bank of the river of the same name, 130 km from the city of Kota Kinabalu. The trip to the village will take about 2 hours. On the way we will make a stop at the local market, where you can relax and buy fruit.

15:30 Arrival at the pier in the village of Garama. On the terrace for you will be prepared tea and coffee, as well as treats in the local style. Right from the terrace you can observe the nature of the mangrove jungle.

16:00 After tea and rest, we will take a motorboat cruise along the river surrounded by mangrove jungle. It is the mangrove trees that are the natural habitat of nose monkeys and their main diet. You will have the opportunity to observe the noses during their dinner and preparation for the night. Our experienced guide will tell you many amazing facts about these unique animals.

During the cruise, you can also meet silver-leaf monkeys, ordinary macaques, water buffaloes, various birds, and if you are lucky, crocodiles on the bank of the river. On the way back, you will have the opportunity to watch a beautiful sunset.

18:00 Upon your return, a buffet-style dinner will be prepared for you on the terrace. You will be offered dishes of meat, chicken, vegetables, rice and fruits.

18:30 With the onset of complete darkness, another short cruise through the mangroves awaits us, where we will have the opportunity to observe a truly amazing sight – a festive illumination created by fireflies of the mangrove tree.

19:00 Return to the hotel. End of the tour.

21:30 Estimated time of arrival at the hotel.
