Palace of Culture
Istana Budaya, 58 Jalan Kuantan, Titiwangsa, 53200 Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan, Malaysia
Description:
In September 1999, the Palace of Culture was opened in Malaysia. It has become one of the most important theater venues in the country and in the Asian region. The Istan-Budaya stage is never empty – operettas, operas, classical music concerts, musical theater performances and performances of popular performers abroad take place here.
The Palace of Culture is located in the heart of the capital Kuala Lumpur, along Jalan Tun Razak Street, on which the National Art Gallery also stands.
The idea of the construction of Istana Budaya was born in 1964. But for another 30 years it was not destined to come true, and construction work began only in 1995 and ended 3 years later. The area of the building is 54,400 square meters. The design of the Royal Lodges is unique – they can accommodate 1412 people at a time. Only the most modern equipment is installed here, which is why the Palace of Culture is one of the ten most complex theater halls in the world. He is a competitor to the London Albert Hall.
The complex is designed to raise the standards of performing arts, as well as to popularize productions of theaters of the highest level.
