National Planetarium
Lot 54, Jalan Perdana, 50480, Kuala Lumpur, 50480, Malaysia
Description:
The exposition of the National Planetarium is devoted to the story about all topics related to the study of planets and stars, flights of spacecraft and artificial satellites of the Earth. This is a surprisingly successful example of combining the educational component of the inspection program with elements of entertainment, which especially attracts children here.
From afar, the planetarium building looks very similar to a large mosque – its circular blue dome is visible from afar. To the main building leads a solemn wide staircase, lined with colored tiles.
The interior of the planetarium can be thematically divided into several expositions. First, it is the so-called space theater, then - an exhibition gallery with many fascinating exhibits, a reference and information center where you can get answers to questions, and the surrounding park, which presents ancient observatories. In the cinema, you can watch movies about the Universe, and project the image not on the usual flat screen, but on the hemisphere, which creates an amazing effect of presence. There is a small observatory with a 14-inch telescope.
Those who want to diversify their vacation and at the same time give pleasure to children, definitely need to visit the National Planetarium of Malaysia.
