Garden Majorel
Salon de coiffure Majorelle, Rabat, Morocco
Description:
Through poetry, the garden Majorelle annually attracts many tourists to its paths. The house is painted in strictly blue, which looks extremely advantageous against the background of nondescript adobe walls. Majorelle is especially beautiful in winter, when its walls acquire the same color as the sky above Morocco.
The owner of the house was the French artist Jacques Majorelle. He came to Morocco in 1919 with tuberculosis. Fighting the disease, Jacques bought a house and began to create a garden with rare plants. Soon the fascination turned into something more. Jacques made contact with botanists from all over the world, bringing unusual trees and flowers from South Africa, cacti from Mexico, lotuses from China to his garden. When the wonder of garden and park art was ready, Jacques opened the gates of the garden for everyone.
