Udaya Museum
Museum of Oudayas, Rabat, Morocco
About the company:
The Udaya Museum is located in the palace of the first sultans of the Alawi dynasty, which was built in the 17th century by order of King Mulay Ismail. The inscription in the courtyard of the sultans' palace reads: "Let not the happiness of our lord and ruler of the faithful Ismail, and may he be granted unsurpassed victories."
The first thing that attracts attention when visiting the museum is its colorful garden, made in the Andalusian style: the strict geometry of paths and alleys literally sinks in bright flower beds and dense vegetation.
The main attraction of the Udaya Museum is the collection of editions of the Koran, which is stored in a marble room. Also, tourists are attracted by a collection of carpets with a centuries-old history. Some carpets have up to 150,000 knots per square meter. Of particular interest is the room in which the traditional Moroccan interior is reproduced.
