Museum of Ancient History and Antiques

12 Rue de la Kasbah, Tanger 90,000, Morocco

About the company:

The Museum of Ancient History and Antiques is located in the ancient palace of Dar el-Makzen, which once belonged to the sultan. And, although today its rooms have turned into museum halls, the walls of the palace can be considered full-fledged exhibits of the museum. Decorated with rich mosaics and various decorative details in the Arabic style, the palace is an important monument of Muslim architecture.

The museum itself contains collections of weapons and carpets, jewelry and pottery, colorful fabrics and ancient Arabic manuscripts. In one of the museum halls you can see the famous Roman mosaic “The Journey of Venus”. Of particular interest in the Museum of Ancient History and Antiques is the recreated copy of the Carthaginian tomb.
