Medina in Kasba Square
Description:
Tetuana Medina is protected by UNESCO and is considered a World Heritage Site. Many experts call it the most beautiful medina of Morocco. The houses on its narrow streets bear a special imprint of exquisite Andalusian style and make an extraordinary impression. The old town of Tetuana is surrounded by high walls erected in the late 15th century and seven gates leading into the city. Inside there are quarters belonging to different historical epochs, which left an imprint on their architecture. The earliest houses of the medina were built in the 12th century, the latest - in the 19th century.
