Acapulco Historical Museum
Calle Hornitos, Acapulco, Mexico
About the company:
The Historical Museum can be called one of the most interesting places in Acapulco. It is located inside Fort San Diego, a 17th century city center that protected the city from attack and aggression. The ancient walls – mute witnesses to the city’s turbulent past – still hold imprinted emotions of aggression, passion and confrontation.
However, the museum is of interest not only as an appendage to a historically significant place. Its collection, occupying 13 halls, painstakingly and carefully composed of household items, jewelry, paintings, photographs and other historical and archaeological documents, figuratively and reliably paints a historical picture not only of Acapulco, but also of the province itself. Especially impressive is the collection of ancient weapons.
The museum can be studied independently, or you can use the services of a guide.
The museum is open daily, except Mondays, the entrance ticket costs about 40 pesos.
