Description:
The Palace of Government has a rich history. It was built in 1650. His appearance was very modest, and the material from which he was built was not very reliable. In 1750, during an earthquake, the palace building was completely destroyed. Construction of the new building was completed in 1774. The new two-storey building of the palace was built of Baroque stone.
The Government Palace has a large courtyard surrounded by arches and columns. Due to its size, sunlight freely penetrates its territory, emphasizing the magnificent architecture.
Inside the palace you can see some of the best frescoes by Jose Clemente Orozco.
