La Minerva Fountain

La Minerva Fountain is not only a decoration of the roundabout, but also a symbol of the city of Guadalajara.
The diameter of the fountain is 74 meters. In the center of it is a bronze statue of the Roman goddess Minerva, created by sculptor Joaquin Arias. It is located on a pedestal, and its height is 8 meters.
On one side of the pedestal, the following words are engraved: “Justice, wisdom and strength are the guardians of this city”, on the other: “To the glory of Guadalajara”. It also features the names of 18 men from Jalisco, famous residents who contributed to the development of Guadalajara.
