Gloria Tolantongo Park
Poblado de la Mesa el Cardonal Hidalgo, Ixmiquilpan, Mexico
Description:
Gloria Tolantongo Park is a large oasis in Ismiquilpan. Natural pools and caves brought glory to this place.
Nature is striking here with its diversity. The instantaneous transition from desert arid climate to lush tropical vegetation is surprising and astounding. Numerous thermal keys burst to the surface, forming natural pools.
Tolantongo is famous since ancient times as the largest oasis of the region. There is a huge network of caves and underground tunnels, some of which are flooded. Water in lakes and ponds amazes with a variety of colors - from crystal clear to purple and blue-turquoise.
Due to the constant springs and thermal waters, Tolantongo is called the “End of Eternal Dew”. This is a popular tourist destination, where people come to walk through the forests of the oasis and swim in the thermal springs.
