About the company:

The Kalakmul Museum of Archaeology and Nature is located on the territory of the Maya settlement lost in the jungle. On the ruins of the ancient city live animals of the Mexican jungle.

The museum was created in the south of Yucatan on ancient land owned by the Maya. To get to the complex, you need to drive along a forest road passing through the real jungle. On an area of several hectares, a historical museum was built, combined with a small zoo, where boars, jaguars, pheasants, several species of monkeys and birds live, among which there is a quetzal revered by the ancient peoples of Latin America.

The main attraction of the ancient city is two high pyramids 40 and 45 meters high. From the top of the pyramids offers a dizzying view of the city and the surrounding forests. On the territory of the complex you can also see the partially ruined stadium for the Indian ball game and several buildings called palaces because of the richness of their decorative decoration.

The Kalakmul Museum tells about the history of the ancient city, you can see films about the Maya or consider the skeletons of dinosaurs found during excavations in Yucatan. It is noteworthy that the museum receives electricity thanks to solar panels installed above the complex, in addition, part of the exhibition is devoted to the environmental problems of Mexico and the fight against the destruction of forests in Latin and South America.
