Excursion in Mexico in Russian: Merida, Chichen Itza, Cenote.

Description:

A rare and unusually interesting one-day excursion with a private guide in Mexico, during which you will get acquainted with the largest colonial city of the Yucatan Peninsula, visit one of the most beautiful archaeological monuments of the Maya culture, see the realities of life of the local urban and rural population and swim in one of the underground lakes of Yucatan.

Excursion in Mexico - Chichen Itza

The Pyramid of Kukulkan is the main attraction of the famous archaeological zone of Chichen Itza. Twice a year, the glowing sun-god-Snake descends from the top of the pyramid, striking thousands of astonished tourists. The majestic and mysterious Temple of Wars makes you think about the power of the Toltec army. The Skull Platform evokes tremors and recreates the mystical experiences of the Quetzalcoatl priests. Dozens of religious and military buildings, decorated with sophisticated bas-reliefs and frightening frescoes, create a truly indelible impression. The Seventh Wonder of the World is nothing more or less.

After visiting the archaeological zone, the tour participants are invited to swim in the most beautiful karst lake (cenote). Tropical lianas hang over the lake, and in the purest water you can easily see representatives of the local fauna (don’t be afraid, not predatory:) Then the continuation of the tour is a visit to the Tequila Museum with tasting.

Excursion in Mexico - Merida

The capital of the state of Yucatan, Merida, was built by colonialists from Spain in the mid-16th century. Until now, the spirit of old Europe hovers in the central part of the city: narrow paved streets, majestic and gloomy Catholic cathedrals, stately and prim houses of the Spanish nobility ... And at the same time, an amazing resonance with the architecture of medieval Spain is created by bright exotic elements of Mexican life: bustling hammock traders, Indian grandmothers discharged in national clothes, coconut palms sprouting through stone here and there. Walk around the city center, look inside the colonial courtyards, have a few words with the locals, taste the national dishes overlooking the main square ... – the impression of Merida will be to your taste!

Note from your private guide in Mexico: as part of the tour in Mexico, we can replace Ek-Balam with some other archaeological area, for example, Chichen Itza.
