Kantoi Island

at the confluence of the Caribbean Sea with the Gulf of Mexico, 37 km from Cancun, Mexico

Description:

The tiny island of Kontoi is uninhabited. And, most likely, this is why it is so attractive for tourists with its untouched nature. By the way, getting here isn't easy. An organized tour or a private boat visit are ways to get to Kontoy. Only the number of visitors per day is strictly limited. It's worth bearing in mind.

What's so remarkable about the island? Of course, the authenticity of life. Mangroves, palm forests, amazing beauty beaches, barrier reef with an incredible variety of life - all this is wild and not ennobled by human hands. But this naturalness makes the island so fascinating that you never want to leave. There are many birds (there are 152 species nesting on Kontoe), unique marine inhabitants, turtles, different types of plants. It's all in my hand. But there are rules that must be followed: here you can not fish, listen to loud music and use sunscreen. All this in order not to harm nature.

There is a small area on the wild island. It is a small museum, a souvenir shop and a playground for recreation. There are also several walking trails, which are very interesting to walk in the company of a biologist guide.
