El Salto Falls
Description:
El Salto Falls north of Manzanillo is the main waterfall in Mexico and is over a hundred feet high.
The waterfall is formed by the Marabasco River, which flows through the jungle and rainforests, and is located in a natural park near the small beautiful village of Pesa Colorada.
The entrance fee to the park is 10 pesos, here you can see coffee trees, huge ancient parota trees, “rubber” trees and other unusual specimens of wildlife. In the same park there is a water park, which is a landmark for those who want to get to the waterfall.
Behind the water park there is an iron bridge. From here there is a beautiful view of the waterfall, surrounded by canyons and grottoes, as well as other smaller waterfalls.
Depending on the time of year, the nature of the waterfall also changes. During the rains, it is a huge, powerful, roaring river with muddy water, during the period from November to May its waters are crystal clear.
