Plaza Garibaldi is the center of street fun in Mexico City.
The square’s original name was Santa Cecilia. However, in 1910, Santa Cecilia was renamed in honor of Lieutenant Colonel Jose Garibaldi, who was an active participant in the Mexican Revolution.
The square is the world's largest arena for bullfighting. However, the fame of the square brings regular performances of famous street musicians mariachis, who are dressed in Mexican national clothes and perform national tunes.
The Tequila and Mezcal Museum is located on the square, where there are about 400 varieties of traditional Mexican alcoholic beverages. In the building of the museum there is a cultural center of national music.
In addition, the square has an unusual garden of the agave plant, which is used to produce mezcal and tequila.
