Plaza de La Constituci n G, Centro, Cuauht moc, 06000 Ciudad de M xico
Description:
Socalo Square (the second name is Constitution Square) is one of the symbols of Mexico City and one of the largest squares in the world (it occupies an area of 240 square meters). Here are the buildings of the ancient Aztec capital of Tenochtitlan and the most beautiful buildings of the colonial period.
On the one hand, the square is framed by the presidential palace, on the other - the cathedral, and on the third - the city hall. The fourth side of Sokalo Square is occupied by the Lombard “Mountain of Mercy” and a stylized hotel.
Near the square is a pyramid, on top of which once stood the Temple of the sun god and the rain god.
