Description:

The Palacio de Correas, or Postal Palace of Mexico City, is a post office located in the historic center of Mexico City, near the Palace of Fine Arts. The palace was built in the early twentieth century - at that time it was considered the most modern building of that time. After the earthquake in 1985, the building was restored in the 1990s.

The building was started by Porfiry Díaz, President and dictator of Mexico. He was not popular with the people, but he initiated the construction of most of the posh buildings in the capital of Mexico.

Initially, the post office was in the Presidential Palace, then in the wing of the Mint. In a separate palace, the post office has been located since 1907. Now in addition to postal correspondence in the building on the fourth floor is the Museum of Maritime History.
