26-28 Bolivar Street, Mexico

About the company:

The House of Joseph de la Borda is the home of the founder of the silver business in Mexico City. Located in the historic center of the city. Initially, the building, built in the XVIII century, covered a whole quarter and had various courtyards. The mansion was built as a gift for Borda's wife. The Baroque house was designed by the famous architect of the time Francisco Guerrero.

The building had three floors. Near the main entrance was a large niche with a statue of the Virgin Mary of Guadalupe. The house included four dining rooms, 25 arbors, three kitchens, two stables, three business offices and two chapels. The entire interior was richly decorated with carpets, heavy curtains, paintings, porcelain, clocks, sculptures and furniture with carvings.

Today, the house has recreated the interior in which its influential owners once lived.
