The Dolores Olmedo Patino Museum opened in 1994 and now includes 13 galleries. Dolores was an entrepreneur and musician, but she became famous for her close acquaintance with the great Mexican artists Frida Kahlo and her husband Diego Rivera.
The museum features Dolores’ personal collection of 150 paintings, not only donated by Frida and Diego, but also by Mexican artists such as Angelina Beloff, Jose Juarez and Francisco Guevara. The collection also features Dolores’ original ivory and porcelain jewelry and some 6,000 figurines and sculptures.
