Foundation Park Complex
Madero 2500, Centro, 64000 Monterrey, NL, Mexico 12 m CV
Description:
In the north-west of Mexico in the city of Monterrey is located Park complex Fundidora Park. The uniqueness of the park lies in the fact that it was created on the territory of a former metallurgical plant. The plant lasted almost a century, but was closed due to bankruptcy. Two years later, ponds, fountains and playgrounds for children appeared on the site of the former industrial giant. At the same time, the metallurgical plant itself was not disassembled - all its iron structures have survived to this day, and today are the original scenery of the park.
On the territory of Foundation Park there is a museum telling the history of the plant, and blast furnace No. 3 is named a monument of Mexican industry and is open to the public.
