Caves de Garcia
9 km from Garcia, 30 km from Monterrey, Mexico
Description:
The Caves de Garcia are located in a national park inside the famous El Frailé mountain. It is believed that they were formed about 50-60 million years ago.
It is believed that the cave during a walk was discovered by the priest Juan Antonio Sobreville in the middle of the XIX century. There are several of them, more correctly, several dozen. Camera by camera, they ulcerate the mountain inside which they are, being a kind of rock inside the rock.
Most likely, the caves, which in our time are in the thickness of the mountain range, in prehistoric times were flooded with sea water. This assumption is supported by numerous remains on the walls of marine fossils and shells. In general, the caves look traditional for such relief forms, presenting the eyes with beautiful and unusual stone decorations of stalactites and stalagmites.
