House-museum of theatre puppets

Padre Raymundo Jardn, 945 Oriente, Monterrey, Mexico | Barrio Antiguo

About the company:

The building of the house-museum of theatrical puppets was built in the middle of the nineteenth century - in 1858. At first it was intended for visiting actors. In 1992, the rooms of the house were converted into a theater museum. A little later a house-museum was opened here. Currently in the collection of the house-museum there are more than two hundred puppets. Each of them depicts a representative of a particular profession.

In addition to the exhibition of puppets in the house-museum is an exhibition of ancient drawings, as well as reproductions of puppets of famous European masters. The presented dolls depict different peoples living on the globe. Here you can see dolls in chic dresses, jeans, caps and Panamas, gloves and sunglasses. Often in the walls of the house-museum there are schoolchildren. Entrance to the museum is free for all categories of the population. He works all year round.
