Church in Tlacochahuaia

Calle Reforma, Puerto Escondido, Mexico

Description:

The Church of San Jeronimo in the city of Tlacochahuaia is a charming temple built in the XVI century by the Dominicans.

Now the temple is almost completely restored in accordance with the original plan and architecture. The abundance of natural colors and motifs made this church attractive and visually delightful. The style of the building is baroque.

Altar paintings tell about the life and wonders of Mexican saints. Particular attention should be paid to the steep narrow spiral staircase and organ. The organ itself dates back to 1730 and is a magnificent work of art with various paintings and decorations.

Organ evenings are often held in the temple.

The church can be visited from 10 to 14 hours and from 16 to 18 hours daily.

The temple can be reached by taxi.
