Park Juarez El Llano
between Avenida Juarez and Pino Suarez, Juá rez, Centro, Oaxaca, Mexico
Description:
One of the decorations of Oaxaca is El Llano Park or, as it is otherwise called, Paseo Juarez. Almost since its inception, this place has been significant on the city map. In the old days, a zoo was located on this territory, where you could see large African animals. Later, in the 70s of the 20th century, it was transformed into a city park and decorated with fountains. As a reminder of the zoological past, a pair of gilded lions stand on every corner of the park.
Now the park is one of the city centers of attraction. It is surrounded by beautiful buildings that can be considered examples of colonial architecture: the Teatro Juárez, the Monastery of Maria of Guadalupe, the Church of Our Lady Patronat and others. There are many shops and restaurants in the vicinity.
The park itself looks cozy and elegant, besides it is one of the few green places in the city. Its center is decorated with a monument depicting Benito Juarez.
Nowadays, the park is a place where not only citizens enjoy their holidays. Many important city events are held here.
Wi-Fi is freely available throughout the park.
