Comunitario Balaa Xtee Guech Gulal

Aldama, Teotitlan del Valle, Mexico

About the company:

The Comunitario Balaa Xtee Guech Gulal Museum is a guided tour and exhibition center dedicated to the cultural heritage of pre-Columbian America.

The museum is located in Mercado de Artesanias Square in Teotitlan, Oaxaca. The building is owned by the local community, whose members act as guardians and guides. The exposition is located in the former municipal market. One hall is decorated in traditional Indian style – its walls are decorated with tiles painted with frescoes on religious motifs. Here you can see Aztec ceramics, household items and craft tools - a set of carpenter and a loom. The second hall is dedicated to the customs of the Mexican wedding.

The museum offers its guests walking tours to Cerro Picaco Hill, an ancient sanctuary of the Aztec people.
