Textile Museum

The Textile Museum is a small museum located in the center of Palenque and shows visitors the variety of traditional clothing found throughout the Chiapas region.

All exhibits of the museum are placed on mannequins with a detailed description of the presented costume, the time of its manufacture, the material, the city or region of tailoring, the spoken language of this region and much more. Information in the museum is presented only in Spanish.

The museum highlights the immense cultural heritage of the Chiapas region. In addition to clothing items, the museum presents various textile products - scarves, towels, scarves. Here you can see how the methods of manufacturing and processing textiles have changed over the entire period of the region’s existence.
