Description:
The Puerto Vallarta Botanical Garden is located just 30 minutes south of the Old Town, so getting here by public transport is easy.
The garden presents world-class plant collections, conducts educational activities and serves to preserve a number of endangered plants in Mexico.
The creation of the garden began in 2004 with the opening of a small botanical garden in the highlands of Jalisco. Now the garden covers an area of more than twenty acres, which were previously intended for grazing livestock.
In the garden you can see more than 6000 planted blue agaves, 1000 Tabebuya plants, mountain pine trees, local oaks and redwood.
On the territory of the garden there is also a restaurant, nurseries for plant reproduction and picturesque hiking trails.
