Charkas Cathedral
Centro, 78595 Charcas, SLP, Mexico
Description:
Charkas Cathedral is the largest religious monument in the city, erected in 1552.
The construction of the cathedral was finally completed only by 1712, the cathedral was originally made in the Renaissance style, and then was supplemented with elements from the Baroque style.
The cathedral building includes one tall bell tower with two levels of arched windows - two windows on each side. The cathedral itself is not distinguished by special grace, rather, it stands out for its severity and rudeness of forms. The main entrance to the cathedral is made in the form of a large brick arch, at the very top of which there is a cross.
