The Bridge of God Falls

Camino al Puente de Dios, Tamasopo, Mexico | Rancheria El Cafetal

Description:

The Bridge of God waterfall is a beautiful natural landmark consisting of two waterfalls in a narrow gorge and a cave under a stone arch through which the river flows.

When falling from a height of 25 meters, the waterfalls form pools with pure turquoise water suitable for swimming. The depth of the pools reaches twenty meters, and the color saturation harmonizes with the surrounding tropical vegetation. The rocky walls of the pools rise high above the water, which makes this place look like cenotes (ponds in caves typical of Mexico).

The waterfalls got their name “Bridge of God” due to water erosion, which eroded the rocky hill from which water falls, forming a bridge-like figure. In addition, during the rainy season, the fall of water from the ledges and its meeting with the sun creates an unusual effect of glowing, which also adds to the mysticism of this place.
